Forgiving the unforgivable
‘Each time when I forgive-I open the door to the possibility of being more of who I am meant to be. The choice to forgive is always a gift we give ourselves.’
Colleen Haggerty lost her leg in a car accident when she was 17 and went through a process, moving from repressed emotions, through to depression, to facing grief, anger, fear, a desire for vengeance, compassion, empathy, and eventually to inner peace. By sharing her story, she illustrates the challenging process of forgiveness.
